Redesign studies
Two directions are on this site. The Apple studies follow the Human Interface
Guidelines: system type, semantic colours, one material layer for navigation, and the system
appearance rather than an in-app switch. The four editorial studies below them came first.
Brand · v2.0
- Identity system
A Newsreader wordmark — the name is the mark — and a graphite K for the app.
No monogram, no blue tile, no gloss.
Brand sheet

- Portfolio
The morning view: net asset value, allocation, the two limit meters, holdings
and the open journal — grouped cards on the system background, translucent sidebar.
Sample book
- Market
Index cards, a tracked-assets table and the crypto line in the footnote.
Follows the system appearance: light or dark, no switch in the app.
Real data
Earlier · editorial finance
- A · Broadsheet
Calm. One hero figure, three secondary indices, a large chart, an eight-row list.
Scrolling is expected; every block gets room.
Market · 1,494 px
- B · Ledger
Two columns. A four-figure strip, the list on the left with the chart beneath it,
crypto and movers on the right.
Market · 1,030 px
- C · Desk
Dense. Twelve rows and seven columns above the fold, a compact index bar, a narrow
rail for crypto, the chart and movers.
Market · 900 px
- D · Portfolio
Portfolio first: net asset value, the three-layer allocation bar, holdings with
weight bars and both limit flags, and the open journal. Sample book — layout only.
Portfolio · 1,194 px
Market figures are real: indices and crypto from data.json, stock rows from VNDirect,
the chart from 60 daily VN-Index closes. The Portfolio study uses an illustrative book, labelled as
such on the page. Typography and motion are best judged in your own browser; the images sent
alongside are a preview rendered without a GPU.
